That is the 5 symbol curse. I triggered a Timber wolf bonus round and got free games. During the free games I got $125 for the 5 owl retrigger. Not a multiplier in sight!! By the time I was done I had retriggered 4 times and cashed out somewhere in the $350 range. Just brutal!! If those multipliers had showed up it would have been $6250 just to trigger. I have had the 5 coin trigger on that darn dragons game a few times and cashed out almost exactly what the trigger paid. What games are out there that are guaranteed to be big wins with 5 symbol triggers? I'm guessing there must be some?

Hughes, not sure how you got Pharaohs fortune to cough up more than $50. I can't seem to. That is sweet. I always pick start free dud games within one to three picks.

That may be the best side bet in the casino. I'm thinking it is just a straight 1 in 4 chance without a house edge? He did say he was $50,000+ into the machine. That being the case, it's not that big a wager for someone with deep pockets.

It almost seems random. The cashback always seems predictable as it is $6 for every $1000 through the machine, but free play I agree is a mystery. Sometimes my freeplay is quadruple my cash back and sometimes it is even with it. Shouldn't it be a direct computation? My casino also clawed back my weekend hotel nights. I get three a month and now two of them are only valid Sunday to Thursday. Its also harder to get a room comped. They are allocating a greater percentage of the hotel to people that pay vs. those of us who have already paid. (Many times over) Must be hard times for Harrah's. They also stopped changing cards every 3 hours. Now they change cards once every 24 hours or as needed if one gets damaged/bent etc as I guess it was breaking the bank. Good place to play poker I guess if you know how to subtly mark the cards.

This morning the casino emailed me to send me the weekend comps update. I got $100 more for the steakhouse plus a bunch of buffets, $75 in cash back and $135 in free play. The $100 in food will get me a nice T-Bone and the King crab appetizer. The free play money will get me the usual $0. Is it just me that has zero luck on free play? It's kind of to the point where I don't believe the people that say the machine doesn't know. I don't even seem to get play out of it. The most free play I have had was $600 and I usually get north of $100. Those are decent enough amounts that I should see something...If i ever do, you will hear me. I'll be the one yelling FINNNALLLLLYYYYYY....

Ya, talk about beginners luck. Mini Boom for my baby boy. I gave him $100 to play while I played Timberwolf. He wasn't even $50 in when he hit the major progressive on a $2.50 bet. Afterwards he played the timberwolf next to the donation factory I was playing and he got a bonus. Not being greedy he chose 21 spins and retriggered FOUR TIMES!!! I thought for sure it would end up being another handpay but it ended up with mostly dead spins amounting to about $600 almost entirely from the trigger pays. Needless to say, now he wants to go back.

My local casino has started handing out gifts. I personally hate that they do this. I used to get comped up to $600 in food at the steakhouse after going there. Now they cap that comp at $195 and every 6 months want to give me some piece of crap luggage set or something similar. I don't know what they are thinking. I would prefer to get food comps over gifts. Unless they comp me Breitling watches or something decent.

Went out to celebrate my sons birthday by taking him to the casino. Had a pretty decent night. Some wins....Would have been a great night if I had of stayed away from Big Red and Lock it Link. My son hit the $1060 one. I hit the $1305 playing 5 cents denom and the $993.50 playing a dime.

So, I have been watching bleary eyed, every moment of the live plays and I just don't get it. How is it possible that Scott can play so many hours and only have a best hit ever of $65,000 or so...?? I have had 2 $10,000 hits playing penny slots for $3 a pull and have had too many to count between $1,000 and $5,000 . Scott should have occasional line hits at his max bet in the hundreds of thousands. When I have played $25-$80 a spin I get nothing usually. A really good win is 1000X my bet or higher, but in high limit play, a really good win is 100X or less. Black Widow full screen of the ladies is 50X the bet. It doesn't seem right. I have always been led to believe that the amount you bet doesn't influence the machine but in practice it sure seems to. I would love to have Scott and Brian sit side by side one night playing the same game and figure out what the average times/bet payout is at $1 per spin versus $100/spin.

My biggest win wasn't just one hit. It was the best night ever where I got 7 handpays. (Canadian Casino though so handpays begin around $600 or so..)

Playing $15 per spot on let it ride I was dealt 3 Kings. The dealer gave me my 4 of a kind. 7 hands later the exact same thing happened with 3 7's and the dealer had the 4th. Not a bad night!

Here's one, I had been playing 5 handed video poker for $25 a spin for an hour. I got down to my last $1 and it came up with the royal flush on my dealt hand. That would have paid me $12,500 on the previous 1000 spins but no. I got $500 out of it. Not impressed!

Life of Luxury gave me two progressives once in the same bonus. I was playing minimum bet which I think was like 40 cents. It gave me the Sapphire bonus and I picked the right one after much deliberation. That was $900. Then, next spin it triggered the diamond bonus pick and I figured HA Right, and just slapped the screen assuming there was no way. Well it opened the right diamond and that was $2700. Nice. Played it at max bet for months afterwards and won the diamond one more time but pretty much gave it all back I'm sure.

One day I went to my local Indian casino and the bank guys were working on the ATM. I only had $40 so I plopped it down on my hockey number on roulette and walked to the other machines in the slot area. When I came back I had $1400 waiting for me as my number hit. Well that was the best night with the least invested ever. After 6 more hours at that table I cashed out $15,000 and figured that I should go hammer the higher limit slots. An hour later, I was in my car with nothing to show for it. I swear those machines knew it was casino money being fed into them and they got it all back. So, best night ever was also the worst night ever. -
Is there any place that the older games are available with a decent max bet? I know the D in Vegas has the 2nd floor stocked with older games but I'm not sure of denominations. You picked two of my fave Monkey games. Jade Monkey, Twice your Monkey and Sea Monkeys are some really good games.

Payback percentages are calculated based on the machine being played for an infinite # of spins for an infinite time period. I have never heard of the lease period having anything to do with it and I doubt there is a way to tell the machine that moving day is coming soon. We have all seen banks of machines posted that they will be removed at X date and time. I've never noticed any pattern of happier people at those machines.

I tend to prefer volatile machines that can give you a HUGE win or bankrupt you but usually not progressive machines with the exception of Lightning Link. For that reason I like Brazil, Kitty Litter, Buffalo, Diamond Queen, Twin Win, and some older games like Turkey Shoot and Sea Monkeys. It isn't much fun getting a bonus on Ainsworths Rumble Rumble and similar games knowing that a handpay may not even be possible. (at $2-$3/bet) Having a slot "keep you playing" with little chance of winning walk away money isn't my idea of fun. It must be somebody's though as games like Rumble Rumble are everywhere in my local casino.

Here are some of my recent wins. We can't take pictures at my casino so I don't often get a chance before the attendants come around. Lightning was a good one $1,902 on a $7.50 bet but the best one was the wonder 4 buffalo line hit $972 on a $2.40 bet. The final one was $1785 on a $7.25 max bet. I didn't catch the winning screen. It was the 1st spin of 8 Super free games. The others were duds. I had a great couple of hits on a game called Madame X. I think it was $18 a spin. (I was feeling rich after the Buffalo hit.) No pics as Security was there for another handpay two games down. I won $4,000 and when she asked me to spin again it hit for $4,200!! Never had that happen before. I'd like to say i left up but I "invested it into a Platinum card and unlimited free buffets, concert tickets and hotel rooms and free parking. What a dufus.... But it was fun and i would do it again in a heartbeat. My initial investment that night was only $200 They did send me $600 in free play. It paid zero though as usual. They need to investigate this whole free play garbage. It HAS to be rigged. Good luck to all!!!
